THE 1515 WEST CHOPHOUSE & BAR SHANGHAI

Last week, I had the chance to discover a wonderful place in Shanghai : the 1515 steakhouse. It is located in the brand new Shangri La in Jing An Temple. This place is incredible, from the entry, that leads you to the restaurant to the end, when you discover the hidden bar after your dinner...
The atmosphere is amazing, actually you can see the cook preparing your dinner and you can see that they really know what they are talking about. The meat is from Australia and they raise their own meet in specials farms and while the cook it, you can see the cook looking carefully at the piece of meat to make sure the cooking is at its best.

I can not go to a steakhouse without having a crab cake, actually this is one of my favorite starter and it is really hard to find outside the US. It was very good with a grapefruit juice.

On the picture above you can see that they are touching the meat to make sure the cooking is perfect.

Then they let it cool a bit and then they will put it on fire again just before serving it.

The sous chef and the butcher (who is Australian and was a great teacher to help us choose the meat) are discussing whether it is ready or not to be serve...

We choose some sides such as mashed potatoes, blue cheese balls and fries...

Here is a plate that the boys shared : a huge T-Bone of 1,5 kilo !! Delicious !

To finish we decided to share a cheesecake of course ;)

Of course, it is not a every day restaurant regarding the quantity and price of the food but it is obvious that they are doing things with passion here and the staff will make their best to make you spend a great time. It is definitely a place to go if you're in Shanghai...
